Make the connection

Launched in 2017, the Shopify Unite Fund gives a voice to underrepresented members of the tech community—and this year, it’s bigger than ever.

We now have 10 attendee packages available for marginalized partners from anywhere in the world who wouldn’t otherwise be able to attend the event, which takes place in Toronto from May 6-8, 2020.

Each package includes:

  • Airfare
  • Accommodations
  • One ticket to Shopify Unite
  • Personalized introductions to like-minded attendees and mentors
  • Guidelines on the talks best suited to your particular interests and business needs
  • Post-conference community initiatives to help make the most of this unique experience

If you identify as a member of an underrepresented group within the tech community (women, people of color, indigenous people, members of the LGBTQ+ community, those with disabilities, or another underrepresented segment of the population) and feel you have missed out on opportunities like Shopify Unite because of bias or systemic injustice, we want to hear your story.

Applications will be accepted until January 31, 2020. Selected recipients will be notified via email on February 10th 2020.

Share your story

If you’re interested in applying to the Shopify Unite Fund, you’ll need to demonstrate how past biases or barriers have prevented you from having the same opportunities as others, and what attending Shopify Unite would mean to you as an entrepreneur.

Winners will be based on the applicant’s creativity, passion for commerce, and entrepreneurial spirit.
